Bradford’s Field BIM process is the technology solution for your project which integrates design data, existing conditions, construction data and operational requirements to move the project through the complete life cycle. The concept envisages virtual construction of a facility prior to its actual physical construction, in order to reduce uncertainty, improve safety, work out problems,logistics and simulate and analyze potential impacts. Sub-contractors from every trade can input critical information into the model before beginning construction, with opportunities to pre-fabricate or pre-assemble some systems off-site. Waste can be minimized on-site and products delivered on a just-in-time basis rather than being stock-piled on-site.

Quantities and shared properties of materials can be extracted easily. Scopes of work can be isolated and defined. Systems, assemblies and sequences can be shown in a relative scale with the entire facility or group of facilities. BIM also prevents errors by enabling conflict or 'clash detection' whereby the computer model visually highlights to the team where parts of the building (e.g.: structural frame and building services pipes or ducts) may wrongly intersect

Bradford evaluates the constructability of a design for a building or interior space, is more efficient as we review through the details of the project. Utilizing BIM the team is able to:

  • Reduce RFIs and change orders
  • Evaluate and establish pricing and schedules for multiple design schemes
  • Ensure accurate estimates and visual schedules as materials and equipment are measured, quantified and specified.

For the field team, the BIM model will provide early-on clash/interference detection and facilitate a more effective coordination effort. Through this effort, field conflicts are reduced to almost non-existent state, reducing the number of RFIs, design re-work and number of change orders. The model can then be used for fabrication by the trades, reducing the design phase and increasing productivity, both in their shops and in the field. The Model will provide for a well defined logistic plan which includes trailer placement crane management lay down areas, temporary utility routing and delivery routes. In addition, Safety plans can be presented in a visual format

Scan to BIM- Bradford scans  existing spaces in order to provide an accurate, and reliable depict of the space. The scanning provides accurate measurement of patching areas, placement of the columns, levelness of the floor, size of window cavities etc. Exhibits below demonstrate the area scan and points of information capture. Utilizing this information Bradford was able to generate a model of the space and imposed a conceptual design on it to provide information for an estimate. Scan to BIM features include:
