John Jay College Building Egress Upgrade
Bradford Construction Corporation was selected to be construction manager for a two-phase project that corrected egress issues and upgraded school safety at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York (CUNY). The project also involved creating safe areas and enhancing lecture halls to make them ADA compliant.
Bradford managed and supervised this project and ensured its timely progress while the building was occupied and in use, as directed by CUNY. During the pre-construction phase, Bradford reviewed the plans and bid documents, prepared preliminary cost estimates, conducted site safety planning and established protocol to minimize disruptions to students, staff and visitors when construction began to meet CUNY’s demand.
During the construction phase, Bradford coordinated multiple contractors, processed contractor submittals and requests for information, reviewed change orders and requisitions, managed procurement and facilitated project meetings.
The result of Bradford's management was that the project was successfully closed out, on time and within budget.
